Angela Nicely #BookwormWednesday

Written by Jeannette

Regular readers of my blog may remember that I reviewed a Dirty Bertie book - http://www.autismmumma.com/dirty-bertie-dinosaur-a-book-review - several weeks ago, today's #BookwormWednesday is by the same author but aimed at young female readers.

Angela Nicely appears in the Dirty Bertie books and Bertie has the favour returned in this book.

Angela is just as michevious as Bertie, but seems to cover her tracks better and definitely doesn't get as dirty!

D and I have been reading the stories at bedtime this week and I think I've enjoyed them as much as her. The book contained three seperate stories with larger text and some really funny illustrations, which D has enjoyed drawing.

The third story, in particular, was very funny, all about a health farm visit, with the "baddie" of the story named Miss Bullock, she reminded me of a character from "Lives and loves of a she-devil".

This was D's favourite illustration from the book:

I'd say the book was aimed at the confident young reader market, we definitely enjoyed it.

D's comments on the book:

"Great, but the pictures should have been in colour. My favourite character was Tiffany, I liked her because of the ribbons in her hair".

Angela Nicely is available now, RRP £4.99. The second book in the series, Queen Bee, will be published next January.

Disclaimer: we received a copy of the book via a Mumsnet book club draw.
