Last night was a loooong one. T was, I think, over tired and a bit warm so, despite his melatonin he didn't settle until very late. Whilst it was nice to have some Mumma-T time, we ended up watching old episodes of "Birds of a Feather" which he found very funny, it made me realise that I got no "me-time" at all yesterday (apart from toilet trips).
Despite his late night, T was still up at his usual time, the routine of autism for you. It's finally catching up with him, as he's elected to settle earlier tonight.

D didn't appreciate the disruption and change to the morning and spent the majority of the time curled up, watching me and occasionally moaning from the garden furniture. T, by contrast, loved the free-rein on my phone!
I haven't enforced any school-type work on them today, D was off-kilter after this morning and I wanted them both to have fun in the pool. Which they did! A pair of cheeky monkeys in this picture!
There have been streaks of T's competitiveness coming out in places but I'm trying to downplay them. D reacts if I seem to and I think a lot of the time it passes her by. He is a child who likes to be ahead of the game and that's how he is, as long as it's doing no harm, I need to let it ride.
An example of this was this evening, T is far more a stats-writer than an artist but tonight he decided he'd teach D "to draw properly". She does lovely, very detailed drawings already, in a different style to T's but they sat together, at his desk and she had a go. Proudly showing us all afterwards. It was nice to see and an opportunity to remind them both that different people excel at different things, it would be very boring if we were all the same, after all!
