A HUGE body-slam! Weds 9th Oct 2013

Written by Jeannette

I hope I'm not going to jinx anything (please) by saying that D has had a grrrrreat day at school!

She went to tennis after school club too and as soon as she saw me from down the long corridor, it was a call of "Mumma!", a long run-up and then...wham! A body-slam! Gawd, I've missed them.

I think it's the combination of settling into her class with the change of staff and mix of pupils and seeing that her teacher does dish out consequences (time-out, missing soft play) if there is any name-calling/bullying. It has all made for a more settled, happier D, which in turn impacts on the rest of us positively.

I wish I could say the same for T, the child who caused issues for him a couple of weeks back, created mayhem again today and this time another child was injured (not by T). It's troubled him (T) and during the time before we picked up D, I've tried to provide rationale for the other child's actions.

He hasn't wanted to go to the Open Evening at school choice number 1 and we weren't going to force him, he has said that he saw enough anyway during the Open Day and so, we can get the form submitted....and cross our fingers.

I'm glad that we can talk with T - assuming he's receptive at the time - about what he feels about the secondary schools we've visited and the issues in his school, it certainly makes life easier. With D, it's a case of second-guessing and gentle coaxing, which doesn't always reap results.

*Fingers crossed* for another good day for D tomorrow and a calmer environment for T.

I hope everyone's day has gone well, comments/RTs/shares as ever welcomed, thanks for reading Jx 😘
