Wedding plans? Sun 27 and Mon 28.01.2013

Written by bluecrisps

Apologies for the lack of diary blog last night, I could hardly keep my eyes open by 9pm - let alone do anything else - Night Nurse is a wonder!

Yesterday and today's focus has been much the same for D, she is totally fixated on brides and weddings, she wants to be a bridesmaid more than anything else at the moment!

We didn't experience this "princess" stage before and it's quite enlightening. We found a game online where D can dress-up brides and once you've finished it plays wedding music. Very very twee. She was absolutely fascinated by it yesterday and took her printed-out Bride into school to show them.

I'm trying to find an app that does similar, there are hundreds! Can anyone recommend one please? I downloaded one and it was not suitable, despite its reviews. C'est la vie.

D's had a good day at school and enjoyed Maths today. They were telling the time from clocks as opposed to writing down sums and, it being visual, I think she enjoyed it more.

She was overjoyed to see me and told me who she's going to marry. Not her usual "boyfriend", but a boy in her class who literally reaches her shoulders. He's very cute though. Oh well, 8.5 years old going on 28 years old.

It's lovely to see D starting to have those aspirations, she's starting remembering the most recent wedding she went to and fortunately she doesn't remember that she spent the whole of the service refusing to go in to the chapel and bolting around the grounds, due to her anxieties over it being a strange place and unfamiliar people. The one and only time I should have trusted my instincts and insisted we took her buggy, hey ho.

She did extremely well this morning too, Hubbie was taking T to his school so D walked arm-in-arm with me to her school. It was nice and quiet en route as the mainstream school we have to pass had already started and I know if that OT had been watching it would have been "told you so", but not having to go to T's school first was a major factor. No strangers walking in front/behind/alongside her, no crowd surge towards us once the whistle goes. I didn't make a song-and-dance about it to the staff once we got there but praised D before she went in, as I've said to the OT in my letter (which to date she hasn't replied to) HOW D gets to school does not prevent her accessing the curriculum and therefore...butt out.

Whoops, I went off on a tangent then, I must be feeling a bit better.

So, a good day for my wedding-fixated daughter, hopefully tomorrow will be the same. It would be nice.

Thanks for reading, I'm off for some more witchety-brew, I hope everyone's had a good day Jx 😘
